Last tested: June 2026. We build and use every stack we recommend. Here is the lean, end-to-end content system we would set up today for a solo creator or a small marketing team.
Who this stack is for
For the solopreneur or small team that has to publish a steady stream of content — blog posts, SEO pages, and social clips — without hiring an agency. - Lean version: about $54/month
- Setup time: 2–3 hours
- Difficulty: beginner-friendly
- Best for: solo creators and lean marketing teams
The ingredients
Five tools, one per job. Pricing is current as of June 2026; check the latest before you buy.
| Role | Tool | Price (from) | Why it is in the stack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Writing & drafting | Jasper | $39/mo | Well-known AI writer with brand-voice control and templates; strong for marketing copy at volume. |
| SEO optimization | Surfer SEO | $99/mo ($79 annual) | Turns a draft into a ranking page with on-page guidance; the serious pick for search traffic. |
| Visuals & branding | Canva Pro | $15/mo | Magic Studio AI design covers blog images, thumbnails, and social graphics in one place. |
| Short-form video | OpusClip | $15/mo | Repurposes long video into captioned shorts; turns one asset into a week of social. |
| Automation (glue) | Zapier | Free to start | Connects the stack so a finished post auto-flows to email, social, and storage. |
How they connect
The build flows left to right, with Zapier as the glue between steps:
Jasper (draft) → Surfer SEO (optimize the draft against your target keyword) → Canva (create the featured image and social graphics) → publish to your CMS → Zapier auto-pushes the published post to your email tool and social scheduler.
Separately: a long video → OpusClip (cut into shorts) → Zapier routes the clips to social.
- Native: Jasper and Surfer integrate directly, so you can optimize while you write. Canva exports straight to most CMSs and social platforms.
- Via Zapier: publishing → email, publishing → social scheduler, and OpusClip clips → storage/social.
Setup order
- Start with Canva and set up your brand kit (colors, fonts, logo). It is a fast win that everything else uses.
- Add Jasper; create your brand voice and 2–3 content templates.
- Add Surfer and connect it to Jasper so optimization happens inside the draft.
- Add OpusClip once you are producing video; skip it at first if you are text-only.
- Wire up Zapier last, automating the one or two handoffs you repeat most.

How we tested
We score every tool in this stack on output quality, ease of use, value for money, integrations, and support, using our published methodology. Read our hands-on reviews for the full breakdown, starting with our Jasper review.
Our honest take
This stack is genuinely great if you publish content every week and want one repeatable system. If you publish less than twice a month, the full stack is overkill — start with the lean version (Canva + Jasper) and add the rest only when your volume justifies it. The willingness to talk you out of spend is exactly why we exist.
